5-Do you watch them regularly?
6- Do you have any favorite youtubers?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqDwTKVeUcI

how has it been shot/ edited?
Only voiceover and uses clips taken from films on netflix as visuals in the background so very easily edited together.

What works well about it?
Simple video, so it doesn't need lots of special effects and visuals

What would you do differently?
I would say what i found good about the film, and what i didn't find good so give some advantages and disadvantages. I will also add in normal movies and shows not just netflix originals, so it gives a wider range of choice for my audience.

How does it appeal to the target audience?
Appeals because it gets straight to the point, without lots of talking. Also because it gives the plot of the film too, so the audience can see if it appeals to them or not

How does it compare to other similar products?
It compares because to very similarly to other products because when filming these sorts of videos, you can't really make them unique or different- you can have your own opinion or recommendations, but they are mostly the same.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvXGT_Ra1ts

How has it been shot/edited?
Again, it is just a voiceover with added visuals and clips from the netflix shows

what works well about it ?
Short video so we don't loose interest, and he specifies what exact season and explains it.

what would you do differently?
I would have myself on camera explaining why you should watch these shows/films, and would not make the introduction as long as his - it will be straight to the point

how does it appeal to the target audience?
It is fit for purpose, so it does explain the top 10 binge watched netflix shows and goes into some detail about it.

how does it compare to other similar products?
It compares because to very similarly to other products because when filming these sorts of videos, you can't really make them unique or different- you can have your own opinion or recommendations, but they are mostly the same.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnjt7UUTMOQ

How has it been shot/edited?
This time she is sat in front of the camera explaining in her own words the plot of each netflix show/movie. Not much editing has been done- only a screenshot of the title of the movie or show, and the name of it put in the corner of the screen.

What works well about it?
She gives her own opinions on it rather than just explaining the plot, and she also talks to the camera/audience rather than doing a voiceover

What would you do differently?
I would make my video shorter, as she does tend to waffle a bit and some viewers may loose interest. I will also maybe put a clip of the show/movie in aswell, so the viewers can also see what it looks like.

How does it appeal to the target audience?
Again it appeals to the target audience because it is fit for its purpose and she does explain what shows she recommends to watch.

How does it compare to other similar products?
It compares because to very similarly to other products because when filming these sorts of videos, you can't really make them unique or different- you can have your own opinion or recommendations, but they are mostly the same. However like i mentioned before, she does talk to the camera and use a direct mode of address, where as the other videos did not.

3-Understanding new digital media servives

3-Understanding new digital media services

Digital media services are not very popular with the 21st century. This is because most of the kids in this generation have been brought up knowing how to use technology and digital skills. However, many parents are unaware on how to use these devices and social media.

Digital training skills

Digital Mums is a private education organisation founded by Nikki Cochrane and Kathryn Tyler in late 2013. It is based in the UK and educates mothers in practical digital skills. The organisation focuses on providing part-time, online courses that help equip graduates with job-ready skills so they can create flexible freelance careers. 10% of all their profits go into a Community Interest Company
that funds women from low-income backgrounds to be able to do their training.

In 2014 they received £50,000 of seed investment money from The Big Issue Invest to support their efforts. In March 2016 the company raised £285,000 in private equity and social investment funding to further expand the business.
Digital mums is unique because not only does it offer vocational and part time courses for mums. But it has also initiated several campaigns supporting flexible working and parenting, to support mothers in helping more companies to offer more flexible jobs for them.

Digital transfer service

Advanced media restoration was established in 2010 with an initial aim to restore and digitalis all sizes and formats of analogue tape. The business has now expanded to offer transfers of the most popular digital formats.
AMR is one of the few digital transfer services that digitses analogue tapes. This makes it unique, as it is a service that not many people provide, but if it wasn't a service, then some companies would be put out of business. For example, nobody makes records anymore- all songs are either streamed online or put on a CD. So if it wasn't for AMR, then record businesses would no longer be available.

2- Understanding new digital media products

2-Understanding new digital media products

There are so many digital media products available to be used worldwide. Some examples of these digital media products include mobile apps, websites, podcasts and Youtube shows or channels.

Mobile app

There are now thousands of mobile apps available to download either for free or to also buy, ranging from social media such as Instagram or Snapchat all the way to food apps like Just Eat or Deliveroo. In this section of the digital media, I will be looking at Instagram.
Instagram was launched on October 6th 2010  by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. It was originally only made for IOS devices, but the creators soon expanded the app to android users in April 2012, then further expanding to other devices such as windows 10 and also designing it as a website. The app allows users to upload photos and videos, which can be edited with various filters. Tags and location information can  also be added to the posts. An account's posts can be shared publicly or with pre-approved followers. Users can "like" photos, and follow other users to add their content to a feed. In 2010, Instagram rapidly gained popularity, with one million registered users in two months, 10 million in a year, and 800 million as of September 2017. As of October 2015, over 40 billion photos had been uploaded to the service.
Instagram offers the opportunity to save your stories and add them as 'highlights' to your profile page, where other users can view them at any time. This makes the app unique compared to its competitors snapchat and facebook, as they only allow for the picture to be viewed within the 24 hours of uploading it to the users story.
The functionality of Instagram isn't new or improved compared to its other competitors, as they are all similar and share the same ideas when introducing a new update or version of the app.

Website

Youtube was created in February 2005 by ex paypal employees Chad HurleySteve Chen, and Jawed Karim. It was later on bought by Google for $1.65 billion. YouTube allows users to upload, view, rate, share, add to favorites, report, comment on videos, and subscribe to other users. Available content includes video clipsTV show clips, music videosshort and documentary films, audio recordings, movie trailerslive streams, and other content such as video blogging, short original videos, and educational videos. Most of the content on YouTube is uploaded by individuals, but media corporations including CBS, the BBCVevo, and Hulu offer some of their material via YouTube as part of the YouTube partnership program. As of February 2017, there were more than 400 hours of content uploaded to YouTube each minute, and one billion hours of content being watched on YouTube every day. As of August 2018, the website is ranked as the second-most popular site in the world, according to Alexa Internet.
Youtube is unique because it is the only service that provides online videos which have been uploaded by other users. This makes it very popular, as many users go online to watch their favorite youtuber which they can only do through youtube, making them different to other digital media products.

Podcast

Kermode and Mayo's Film Review is a radio programme hosted by Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo, broadcast on BBC Radio 5 Live every Friday afternoon between 2 pm and 4 pm. It features film reviews from Kermode, interviews with actors and other guests, and listeners' emails. As of August 2014 the show is BBC Radio's second-most downloaded podcast, and fourth on the BBC list of most-downloaded shows from 2004 to 2014.
Kermode and Mayo's podcast differentiates itself from other film review podcast channels as it occasionally releases special broadcasts. For example, an annual 'Review of the Year' show is prerecorded and broadcast on New Year's Eve, during which Kermode names his best and worst films of the year, and a Christmas Quiz, broadcast on Christmas Eve with special guests and recorded with a live audience. This makes it different, as no other film review podcasts do this, leaving them with a bigger advantage.

Youtube show/channel

Shane Dawson is an American YouTuber, author, sketch comedian, actor, film director, media personality and musician. He signed up for youtube in 2008 and has maintained his channel since. When he first started out, his channel consisted mostly of sketch comedy videos as well as releasing 6 original songs and numerous parodies from popular music videos. Later on, Shane began a series of conspiracy theories for his youtube channel, which are now some of his most viewed videos. In late 2017, Dawson released his first docu-series on YouTube, in which he reconciled with his abusive father. He began using the format regularly in 2018, with his most-viewed docu-series being about Jake Paul, Jeffree Star and TanaCon. His channel 'shane' is one of the 100 most-subscribed YouTube channels with 19 million subscribers and over 4 billion views.
Shane makes his channel unique and different to other users channels, from the documentary series he publishes, following the 'behind the cameras' lives of other youtubers. This makes him stand out, as his demographic fan base are intrigued as to what lives youtubers actually live when the cameras are away.

01 Enterprise skills

                                     1- Enterprise skills

I have used many enterprise skills in and outside of school. For example, when applying for jobs I have had to use several skills to enhance my chances of getting the job. They are also applied at my current place of work where i have to perform both individually and as part of a team, which allows me to motivate both myself and others around me. Furthermore, when working by myself, it allows me to use my own initiative, while also building my confidence when being around the public.

These enterprise skills are again applied at sixth form, as the majority of my A-levels and BTECs are independent work, so I am therefore applying self motivation and working independently. This again means that I am having to self evaluate my work in order to see whether it is up to a good standard or not ready to be handed in on time for my deadline. Another skill used at sixth form is applying my communication skills, because if I am struggling with certain work, I need to be able to communicate with my teachers and let them help me. This also tests my written communication skills for when i have to contact my teachers after school or during the holidays.
